Peaceful, Private Solutions Outside Of Court
Recognized as one of Connecticut’s premier divorce attorneys, Mark brings over 40 years of family law, mediation, and collaborative practice experience into his working relationship with each client. Because his law practice for many years has focused upon non adversarial, “out-of-court” resolution of every client’s matter, this is a unique opportunity for every client to receive personal, in depth, individualized attention from the very first conversation throughout the entire case until final resolution.
Every attorney-client relationship must be built upon a solid foundation of genuine respect and appreciation for the needs and interests of each individual client. Compared with traditional lawyers who typically seize control of the case from its inception and invariably begin by commencing adversarial litigation, our practice involves empowering each individual client and supporting each client’s autonomy and self-determination. Rarely do we begin any formal court proceedings until after both clients are fully comfortable with the process they have chosen.
Most people looking for a lawyer may not realize that when you choose a lawyer, you are also choosing a process. Importantly, you may also be handing over control of your decision-making power to that lawyer and, ultimately, to the legal system. This is often determined by the processes and practices that each particular lawyer is most comfortable with.Because we adhere consistently to very specific, client-oriented principles, we only work with lawyers and other professionals who are committed to processes based on similar principles of client empowerment, autonomy, and self-determination.
To be effective, we listen carefully to identify each client’s needs, values and interests and to understand your goals, objectives, and anything that is important to you. Our view is that each client and each situation is unique. Therefore, every effort is made to match the needs of each client with a process that maximizes the potential for a peaceful, private resolution out of court.
